Tajhat Palace is one of the landmarks of Mughal architecture. Tajhat Rajbari is located three kilometers south-east of Rangpur city. This palace currently has a museum inside the palace. The Tajhat zamindar house was built in the early 20th century by an influential zamindar named Khwaja Ahsanullah. It is said that the zamindar's crown was studded with jewels, for which the king's crown was considered a taj; From which we know the name Tajhat is derived. The palace is a two storied building and is built on a small mound. Terracotta crafts and elaborate carvings can be seen on the walls of the palace. This palace is mainly built of brick and wood. Inside the main zamindar house is a wide staircase made of white marble stones in the center of the Saman. There are total 22 rooms inside the prasad. From 1884 to 1891, the palace was used as the Rangpur High Court.
